These dates mark when SASSA processes the automatic payment into your registered account. Depending on your financial institution or payment method, funds may reflect immediately or by the next morning.

💳 How and where to access your April grant

Once your payment is processed, you have several ways to access your funds — no single method is required, and you should choose the one most convenient and safe for your situation:

• Personal bank account — access via your bank's mobile app, internet banking platform or nearest ATM if your grant is paid by direct deposit
• Postbank account — withdraw at any Post Office branch or Postbank ATM, or check your balance via USSD by dialling *120*3210#
• SASSA gold card — use at approved retailers including Shoprite, Checkers, Pick n Pay, Boxer and USave, as well as at selected ATMs across South Africa
• Cash send — beneficiaries without a registered bank account may receive an SMS containing a cash send reference number to collect at a participating outlet

Budgeting tip: once you confirm your April payment date, take fifteen minutes to write down your key monthly expenses — food, electricity, transport and any outstanding bills. Knowing your payment amount in advance helps you allocate funds correctly and avoid running short before month-end.

If you recently updated your bank account number or switched financial institutions, verify with SASSA that your new details are correctly registered before your payment date. An unlinked account will result in the direct deposit being returned, which adds several days to the reprocessing time.
